Hello. My name is Jessica Brown and I teach 2nd grade at Rodburn Elementary School. I have been working in education since 2012: first as an instructional aide, then a guidance counselor, and now as a teacher. Most of those years have been at Rodburn. This school feels like home and I am proud to be a peacock! I love teaching and getting to know my students! I wouldn't want to do anything else!
I have lived in Morehead most of my life. I was a Rodburn Peacock as a student and then attended Rowan County Middle School and Rowan County Senior High School. In high school, I was on the swim team and did all the bands (pep band, jazz band, concert band, and marching band). After high school, I went to Morehead State and earned a Bachelor's in Sociology and then a Master's in Counseling. I then went on to get a Master's in Teaching from the University of the Cumberlands.
I have three children of my own: Leland, Andy, and Emy. We have two dogs (a Great Dane named Daisy and a yorkie-poo named Chewie) and two cats (Rainbow and Binx).
I enjoy crafting, reading, and kayaking. Some of my favorite things are...
